THE BRIEF
Church Lodge is a new bed and breakfast based in Birdham, West Sussex. The owners, Martin and Nicky, had a list of ‘must haves’ for their new website:
- it must be visually appealing to show off this luxurious bed and breakfast business.
- it must be possible to book online
- it must be possible to see ratings from past clients
- it must be responsive so the site works well on mobile as well as large screen desktop computers
WHAT I DID
An expert brand designer was in charge of the branding of the site and gave me a basic design to follow.
I created a custom WordPress theme according to the design and connected this to a separate online booking service to handle all the bookings. Martin and Nicky had taken some very good quality photographs and were very quick to supply their copy for the site which always makes life a lot easier.
I uploaded all the initial content and pictures. Martin and Nicky are able to add and edit the content of the site.
The smartphone version of the website is handled by the booking service used for online bookings.
As the bed and breakfast became more established and Martin and Nicky had some great reviews on Trip Advisor, I added Trip Advisor widgets to the website so that visitors can see these for themselves.
